Relational.
Relational therapy is at the heart of my work because I believe that our relationships shape who we are and how we feel about ourselves. In our sessions, we may explore how your past and current relationships and/or family dynamics shape your beliefs and narratives about yourself, exploring and uncovering patterns that hold you back. This gives you the opportunity to consciously practice healthier ways of connecting. Using this approach, my aim is to support you in gaining insight into how you relate to others and help you develop the awareness and tools to build more authentic, fulfilling connections. Most importantly, I encourage us to be curious about what happens between us during therapy. I believe the therapeutic relationship is an opportunity to practice new skills and explore new ways of being.

Attachment-Based.
Attachment-based therapy focuses on the connection between your early relationships and how you relate to others, presently. In therapy, I aim to facilitate exploration around how these experiences have shaped your approach to relationships. Depending on your needs, we may work to strengthen your capacity to engage vulnerability with others (i.e., share needs, feelings, etc.), to set boundaries when needed, and to regulate your emotions.

Experiential.
"Experiential therapy" is just an umbrella term for therapies that emphasizes the exploration and expression of emotions and inner experiences. It emphasizes bottom-up processing (feeling, expressing) over top-down processing (thinking). In sessions, I use techniques to deepen your emotional experience such as somatic inquiry (questions about what you are feeling in your body, moment-to-moment), Internal Family Systems (explorations of different parts of you, perhaps ones that have been historically neglected or over-active/dominant), and Emotion-Focused Therapy (facilitation of therapeutic role-plays or dialogues between different parts of yourself or between yourself and others).
